CANBY, Ore. — Early Friday morning, the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office issued a Level 3 (Go Now!) evacuation order near Canby due to a wildfire.
UPDATE: Wildfire under control
According to an information officer, the fire ignited around 4 a.m. and has already consumed 4 1/2 acres, climbing a cliffside and posing a threat to several homes.
Level 3 (GO NOW)
The Level 3 evacuation is in effect for the area from 99E to Reflection Lane, extending west to Milepost 16 on Hwy 99E, and south to South End Road.
Level 2 (Be Set)
In addition, a Level 2 (Be Set) evacuation notice has been issued for the east side of S. Southend Rd from 99E to Reflection Lane, and the west side of S. Southend Rd from Reflection Lane to Beutel Rd, extending west to 99E at about Milepost 15.5, and south to Milepost 16.
Level 1 (Be Ready)
A Level 1 (Be Ready) evacuation notice is in place for the west side of S. Southend Rd to S. Rose Rd, the south side of S. Rose Rd from Southend to 18776 Hwy 99E, and south to Milepost 15.5, as well as the area north of S. Beutel Rd.
Road CLOSED
Northbound 99E is CLOSED between S. Haines Rd and Canema Bluff, located between Oregon City and Canby.
“Leave immediately; it is unsafe for you to stay in the area. Your life could be in great danger. Emergency services personnel may not be available to help you if you choose to stay,” stated the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO).
As the day progresses, fire danger is expected to increase, and air resources will be called in later in the morning.

The CCSO said that the fire is advancing toward homes and is extremely difficult to access and extinguish.
