If you’re thinking about going to Frog Lake to experience the exceptional SUP (standup paddleboarding) for the first time, you might want to double-check your GPS because it’s been sending people to the road entrance with poor highway visibility.

Frogs at Frog Lake
Plus, if you go during the right time of year (as in right now), then you get to enjoy your SUP experience with thousands of baby frogs hopping around in the grassland area on the northern side of the lake. If you visit during any other time, you may not see them. However, if you visit Frog Lake in late June or early July, you will not be disappointed. We went last week and they were everywhere!

Are There Frogs at Frog Lake?
Where are the frogs? If you’re wondering what happened to the frogs at Frog Lake, then you’re probably visiting at the wrong time of year. Now is the time to visit, before it’s too late. To see thousands of little baby frogs hopping around, you need to visit in late June or early July before it gets too hot. During this time, the lake comes alive with these tiny creatures, offering a unique and delightful sight for visitors.
Be careful where you step though, and watch out for snakes because they love frogs, too.
Directions to Frog Lake
Frog Lake is easily accessible from Highway 26 and is a great spot for a day trip or a weekend getaway, offering a serene natural environment with opportunities for both relaxation and adventure.
GPS recently sent a Frog Lake newbie to the far side of the loop drive entrance with poor visibility because it’s located on a turn. Plus, there are huge rocks protecting the entrance, so at first glance it looks closed. Do not follow your GPS if it takes you to this southern loop entrance. Make sure you go to the Frog Lake Trailhead and then drive/hike down from there.
