Sugar Free Whipped Frosting That’s Red, White & Blue Delicious on Anything

Here’s my simple recipe for fresh and light sugar-free whipped frosting that calls for only 4 ingredients: heavy whipping cream, sour cream, vanilla extract, and honey:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (up to 1 cup)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Honey, to taste (start with 2-3 tablespoons and adjust as desired)

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy whipping cream, sour cream, and vanilla extract.
  2. Using an electric mixer or whisk, beat the mixture on medium-high speed until it starts to thicken.
  3. Gradually add honey to the mixture, starting with 2-3 tablespoons. Taste the frosting and add more honey if desired for extra sweetness.
  4. Continue beating the mixture until it reaches a fluffy, whipped consistency, with soft peaks forming.
  5. Once the frosting is ready, use it immediately to frost your desired cake or cupcakes.
  6. Store any leftover frosting in the refrigerator in an airtight container.

Note: It’s important to keep the frosting refrigerated until ready to use, as it contains dairy ingredients. The frosting can be made ahead of time, but it’s best to re-whip it briefly before using to regain its fluffy texture.

Enjoy your homemade sugar-free whipped frosting as a delightful and healthier option for your favorite cakes and treats!

PRO TIPS:

  • Try more sour cream and less honey, with a pinch of dill for dinner dishes.
  • Try using Maple syrup instead of honey for French Toast.
  • Try extra vanilla with no sugar, no honey, no syrup, for a heathy Fruit Parfait.
  • Try everything above with Greek Yogurt instead of sour cream, or cream cheese is also delicious.
  • Try more sour cream and less honey, and your favorite savory seasonings and/or hot sauce combo.
  • Try everything! Whipped Cream + Sour Cream, Yogurt, and/or Cream Cheese, makes a great base for countless custom flavor combinations.
