Universal Healthcare is on the horizon for Oregon, and some question the effectiveness of Universal Healthcare when it has seemingly Crippled Canada’s Medicare program with Long Wait Times for Care in Universal Healthcare.
“Oregonians have a Constitutional Right to Affordable Healthcare”
Universal Healthcare set for Oregon Statewide following Measure 111 in 2022, stating that Oregonians have a Constitutional Right to Affordable Healthcare.

Medical Wait Times in Canada Reach Record High
If you think that “Universal Healthcare” is the golden ticket, you may be mistaken when you find the Willy Wonka wait times. Have you seen the movie with the huge line but only a few golden tickets? Yeah, welcome to Canada’s Universal Healthcare wait times.

From ACA to Universal Healthcare in Oregon, OH MY!
Many of my followers know how frustrated Iโve been with medical insurance companies for over a decade since Affordable Care Act (ACA) came into play, and now, our Gov in Oregon is talking about โUniversal Healthcare” plans, and I have serious reservations. Below is what happened last time they made changes, and I expect the same level of rift percentage increase, if not more, that’s how the game is played.

The Endless Medi Meeting Cycle Repeating Itself
Why have so many meetings? As a business owner, I can tell you that’s not how it works. When you are doing everything you can, that’s it, and you say it by putting in on the table. Bam! Drop it! That is what you do, ain’t got time for BS when you’re striving to give everything you truly can.
These ridiculous “what’s important to you?” style townhall meetings are how you figure out where to add your percentage profit increase based on community feedback. These are just facts on how the corporate game is played. When a company is giving you an honest offer, they drop the mic, not host townhalls gaslighting real concerns while pandering to loudest few with so called “care” that in some cases ultimately makes them patients for life.
Universal Healthcare Results in Longer Wait Times in Canada
Please go look at the LONG lines in Canada for subpar ops while simultaneously pushing that people just take your own life if youโre depressed about things, and ask yourself how well itโs working out for them? โฆbut thatโs for another time, stay tuned.
Basically, Universal Healthcare is not working very well because of the mass influx of patients so all levels of care go down. Everything from supplies and rooms, to actual blood, organs transplants, and access to the doctors or facilities themselves, itโs always a limited resource. People are a limited resource in this equation.
If you only have a finite/limited amount of Doctors and supplies, then you add 100 more patients to their duty, sure they can take it. Emergencies happen, right? RIGHT!
However, weโre not talking about 100, are we? New Data Suggests up to 2 MILLION โundocumented populationโ in Canada, so thereโs your number. Which adds up when seeing average birth rates for โundocumented populationโ are relatively higher than native populations, in general, so if the previous older data said 500,000 from a few years ago, and more kept coming, while also having babies along the way, it adds up to about 2 million, or more some would argue.

“Free for All” Healthcare Drives Down Quality
Oregon Gov. pushing forward is the same “meeting after meeting” mentality that’s failed Oregonians so many times before, we seem to be repeating history.

Who is paying for all this?
This is the hard part to hear, but Iโm going to say it. I want affordable family healthcare sharing plans near me just like you, I really do, but giving it away โfreeโ to everyone including โundocumented citizensโ who are not contributing back into the system, and also Affirming “free transitions” for kids, making patients for life, just drives the quality down and the wait times UP to a level nobody enjoys.
Affordable Options Do Exists
Maybe now that extra layer of protection with Non-Profit Healthcare Sharing is looking better everyday to me, personally, because we may end up paying for subpar Universal Healthcare like Canada very soon.
Please read my Affordable Care Act (ACA) aka Obama Care post from 10+ years ago, because nothing has changed except we are paying even more for less, and I already see a repeat of similar movements indicating a possible rerun.
