Bioretention Cell Parks for Clean Water

Bioretention is beautiful, if done correctly. When the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers partnered with local teams to make this Bioretention “Habitat/Area/Cell” in Portland, Oregon, they really hit a homerun!

Complete with baseball fields and other play areas, the Westmoreland Park in Portland got a unique extra upgrade to benefit US all, courtesy of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Published Oct. 22, 2014: “PORTLAND, ORE. – Many Sellwood residents remember seeing salmon swimming in Crystal Springs Creek, but it has been over 40 years since they’ve been seen in large numbers. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the City of Portland’s Bureau of Environmental Services and Portland Parks & Recreation are celebrating the completion of the Westmoreland Park Ecosystem Restoration project.  The joint effort removed barriers to fish passage and brings many more salmon back to the city.”

““Environmental stewardship has been part of the Corps’ focus for more than 40 years,” … “The Westmoreland project allowed us to partner with the City to create a healthier stream for fish passage, and a healthier park where people can relax, explore and enjoy the outdoors. It was exciting to work with the City to help restore Crystal Springs Creek.” Col. Jose Aguilar, Portland District Commander.

“Crystal Springs Creek has the best salmon and steelhead habitat in Portland, and working with the Corps to make it accessible is a key part of our responsibility to recover endangered salmon and trout species,” … “The Westmoreland Park restoration is one of several important projects that restore full fish access to the creek for the first time in 40 years.” – Nick Fish, Portland Environmental Services Commissioner

US Army Corps of Engineers Cleans Oregon Water

Crystal Springs Creek runs entirely through Portland. The stream itself rises from actual springs in the ground near Reed College and it flows a short 2.7 miles into Johnson Creek, which is not known for being the cleanest tributaries to the Willamette River.

Therein lies the importance, we need to be doing everything we can to advance clean water as seen here. Amazing results, too. We live here and this project exceeds expectations. Go ARMY!

Clean water is mission critical, it always has been, and always will be, as seen here. In fact, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers does all sorts of amazing build-outs that you might not know about. From clean water solutions and simple things like roads, to full on actual hospitals, The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is up for any task around the world. Are you?

“This restoration project is an important example of how we can apply traditional indigenous knowledge and work together to heal the land,” – Judy BlueHorse Skelton, Indigenous Nations Studies faculty at Portland State University and a Portland Parks Board member.

With “The Special” One Piece Lego Movie Builder aura XP level 1,000 for the win, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers combines a diverse group(s)/team(s) of highly-skilled professionals in their areas of work and fields of study to make one lean, mean-results driven environmental protection team that truly saves lives.

More than just might, The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers adds Brains to Brawn, in unrivaled Master-build-outs known around the world.

Some joke, but the legends are true, The U.S. Army can build an entire mini-city with all the features and amenities in a matter of hours. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers can build just about anything from bridges to airports. It’s the same thing with Bioretention and cleaning water.

If you want to be on the frontlines building of change, The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers might be right for you. They have been very good to family and friends I know. Great minds are always welcome, just saying, we need the Clean Water #TeamUSA for National Security roll call so check it out if you really want to save the world and the water. Be All You Can Be.

Each area gets customized with the best plants/soil for the area. Exactly like you’re planning a mission critical maneuver, but instead of protesting or planting decisiveness, you’re planting trees and “nitrate sponge” plants that purify water naturally, for real. You’re creating waterway ecosystems that protect our water supply for today, tomorrow, and future generations to come.

Bioretention Inspiration

We’ve made smaller bioretention cells/areas, but nothing at this scale, and every time we picture a good “Lazy River” section as described in my Bioretention Cell System concept is the Westmoreland Park area.

We’ve been going there for years, so we saw both before and after, and it’s great.

Westmoreland Park area is beautiful and functional, plus there’s more wildlife because it turns out everyone enjoys clean water.

When I found out that The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers was behind it. I laughed out loud because I’ve been thinking about the park for a while, and I had no idea, even growing up here.

It makes sense though seeing how Portland Officials can’t seem to get much done these days. Typical. The City that lets sewage dump in the Willamette and cries about Federal Authority is enjoying cleaner water from the same Federal Authority. Ironic, but oh so very Portland of Portlanders to be Portlanding, again.

We think it’s great that The U.S. Army is cleaning water with sustainable natural solutions at places like Westmoreland Park. We love it!

More Bioretention Cells in Oregon and Beyond

With the rise of Data Centers, it’s clear that proactive steps such as Bioretention can potentially mitigate future water disasters. Not only do Bioretention Cells help clean Nitrates out of the water, but they also remove heavy metals, and reduce water loss from evaporation. Healthy ecosystems lose less water than Retention Ponds of water waste water baking in the sun.

Mr Wonderful Please Come To Oregon

Mr Wonderful, hopefully you’ve heard the News. I’d like to personally invite you to look into the 47,000+ acres of bare land at the Navy Range in Oregon.

Our intent is many fold, and ultimately I’d rather negotiate with you than be sold out behold out in a locked room.

Hillsboro and Boardman, Oregon have dozens more Data Centers in the works, and the current Data Centers in Boardman have exacerbated water contamination .

We’d like you (Mr Wonderful) to come to Oregon and raise the proverbial bar using proven Bioretention.

Mr Wonderful, Let’s Make A Deal

We will not be sold out in the dark, and policy will take too long. That said, we need industry adoption and we need it now. Therefore, we will address you directly so we can all win. In short, we’ll help you advance your National Security project(s), in return you help US protect the water. Simple.

10 Reasons Why:

  1. Amz already paid $100M to local officials, we need someone with a wallet AND heart to compete
  2. Policy will take too long, we need industry adoption, who else better than Mr Wonder to lead
  3. Water in Boardman is already contaminated, making Mr Wonderful the hero not the villain.
  4. Mr Wonderful has class so we can expect beautiful, highly-functional Bioretention Projects
  5. Wonderful Water “Bioretention” Nature Parks clean water, save Salmon, and awareness boosts his’ bottom line
  6. Cleaning Water Naturally with Bioretention may be used to offset other impacts elsewhere.
  7. With Mr Wonderful, we can raise Data Center development expectations to protect water
  8. Amz runs and hides, Mr Wonderful is not afraid to step up when others fail
  9. Like it or not, the Data race is one we can’t lose and we can win with Clean Water too
  10. With Navy Range Land and National Security, they don’t need permission to do it
  11. The Navy Range is underutilized compared to the Navy need for Data and computing power
  12. Adding Micro-Nuclear will reduce energy costs for everyone, and position US to win Data race
  13. “National Security” means they don’t really need permission as seen in Utah
  14. If we get the deal, it could Clean Water in Boardman, discourage/reduce more in Hillsboro by forcing Deluxe Bioretention with each dev, leaving those who are true partners proving it.
  15. Bioretention and technology bolsters recruitment and National pride, while taking on Climate with Clean Water, backed by proven scientific results without fear.
  16. Solar and Wind are unreliable, and Nation Security allows for Micro-Nuclear Data Centers which could be expedited for US Oregonians thereafter, and reduce energy costs for everyone.

I could keep going, and there’s way more even when considering that the Port of Morrow already had over 1,200 violations in one year, and they want to build more with current failing standards. One more reason I feel we need someone with enough integrity, power, and money to raise the bar.

Bioretention Cells for Data Centers in Oregon
At a Glance: Requesting $55M | Split $10M/each (Mr. Wonderful, AWS, Musk, Meta, Google) with $5M Federal Support : https://pnwsocial.com/data-center-water-crisis-solutions/

Why it so crazy it might actually work:

  • Partnering publicly > privately. As stated, Amz paid Oregon Officials $100M to “Grease the wheels” BTS already, why go public and partner with Tribes.
  • Adding Deluxe Bioretention saves the water, and it saves the Salmon. If Mr Wonderful raises the bar with Bioretention at the Navy Range, that helps save fish.
  • Portion of New Bioretention Fund could be publicly allocated for other tributary projects recommended by local tribes and communities for real results.
  • Existing water contamination limits future litigation exposure, and adopting a Bioretention Initiative add additional layer of litigation protection.
  • Industrial Solar does not have the power we need to win the Data Race, and the people are done with it, perfect time to pivot with new info.
  • Oregon has a strong Pro-Micro-Nuclear push already, and we’ve got a depot that needs attention sometime soon, so maybe that is addressed at the same time.
  • Micro-Nuclear is cleaner and far more cost effective, meaning we save and they make more in the process. They’re going to keep some of the savings for infrastructure build-out and profits as always. Win, Win, Win, Win. That’s how you know there’s a chance. Profit.

OROGINAL REQUEST FOR $55M:

MY REQUEST FOR $55M – ORIGINAL

Please create the Clean Water Dream Team for Data Centers and pledge your dedication to future of humanity with a small donation of $10M each (Mr. Wonderful, AWS, Musk, Meta, Google) with $5M Federal Support for the administration of creating true sustainable educational collateral for students/public/institutions without agenda, based on the findings and facts with proven cost-effective methods that we know work. Simple “Be All You Can Be” edu branding will also gain more great minds to the winning Team USA at the same time.

With renewed National focus on Sustainable Solutions that complement National Security concerns, we believe common ground can be found in more than one area.

Previous leadership has lacked true vision, we believe the AI Leaders of today have the ability to correct the course with slight transparent adjustments for the betterment of mankind

Let’s make more deluxe Bioretention Cells and fund more young inventors with clean water projects. We have the opportunity to be leaders of men, as you are. I may not have the funding to make it happen, but the power of the pen is still mighty and true.

Be the Mr. Wonderful we love from Shark Tank who makes smart decisive decisions, and help US clean America’s Water for tomorrow while protecting National Security interests today. They are one and the same.

Thank you.

WILD CARD PROPOSAL

Oregon has 47,393.03 acres that’s barely used, at the Navy’s Bombing Range in Morrow County, neatly situated away from people in a Data Center “Friendly” area in the heart of ample/future power supply

Mr. Wonderful, please move your Utah Data Center to Oregon and bless the Pacific Northwest with the funding bounty along with the added reassurance with the Bioretention Cell Initiative for clean water, and assist in slowing further Data Center expansion in Hillsboro by raising the proverbial bar for location selection followed by potential positive policy shift, leading the way with Bioretention cells for clean water.

All cards on the table, I want about half to move their locations and those who remain should build the most deluxe bioretention cell system the world has ever seen.

Hillsboro is prime farmland, and the Navy’s Bombing Range is not. In addition, the existing usage lends itself to possible testing, and possible micro-nuclear power alternatives that may require military clearance (like Aircraft Carrier / Sub Powerplants > over less-reliable Solar).

Hillsboro is where one of Oregon’s famous Wine Valley sections begins, and 1,700 acres is nothing next to 47,000+ acres, so it shows promise in that regard for size and power if not selected by Mr. Wonderful. We would need the worlds nicest Bioretention cell in Hillsboro to protect the water supply, if they keep adding Data Centers at the current rate. Nevertheless, the people are still sharing the energy costs, whereas proven micro-nuclear power alternatives will not strain existing resources.

Seeing the current events transpire in Utah, and after experiencing our own leadership in Oregon withholding information, we’d like to go around the descent, and go straight to the source of the information for transparency’s sake so Oregonians do not end up with heels dug in losing land at a townhall meeting with questionable results. Let’s face this together.

We’d like to take this head on, like men, with transparency and proven cost-effective solutions that we know work. Deluxe Bioretention Cells. Please support my efforts and make the calls if you agree.

Conclusion

There are lots of reason why negotiating with Mr Wonderful is better than our current situation. It would give US Oregonians a unique edge. For those still saying “No Data Centers” I get it, but Oregon already has over 30+ alone in Boardman not including Hillsboro. Plus, we’re getting about twice that on the horizon. If we bring in a power partner now, we can raise the proverbial bar of development expectation to include Bioretention that will in fact save the water, save the salmon, and increase profits for Mr Wonderful while Oregonians win for once.

We’ve got the short end of the stick at every turn when it comes to these Data Centers, lets take the wheel and demand Clean Water by making an offer Mr Wonderful cannot refuse. 47,000+ Acres with existing power AND Micro-Nuclear for future clean energy solutions that consistently outperform Solar and Wind, so we can all win the power game, even the birds and Bald Eagles that Obama signed off on ending. Let’s make some changes.

Foster Floodplain Natural Area - Bioretention Water Project Portland Oregon
Foster Floodplain Natural Area – Floodplain & Bioretention Water Project Portland, Oregon

BIORETENTION BONUS:

Another decent example of water management that includes natural bioretention is the Foster Floodplain Natural Area in Portland. Crafted to reduce flooding, it also doubles as a bioretention cell example, with that in mind from the beginning. Yes, it’s a floodplain so the goal is to reduce flooding, however, the end result of effective natural floodplains that can handle a flood includes bioretention.

The team behind this project knew that, you can tell by how well it works during high water, we’ve seen it! Now, you can see the current existing shift I keep talking about toward clean water.

We are already doing it, so let’s do more of what we know works.

If we utilize existing restoration methods, in line with new layers of Nitrate Bioretention removal based on locational needs, it will be successful at mitigation,. How successful is to be determined, but the science is known and proven. Plus, Oregon has several Nitrate Sponge plant options to assist US in our quest to clean the existing water contamination.

They go hand in hand.
