Something BIG is brewing at Team JMI, and I still don’t even know the half of it. In fact, I’m not even authorized to tell you what you’re about to read, but I am willing to risk it in the hopes that we can solve this mystery together. With a little help from you, I know we can figure it out! Grab your tea and get comfy, because we’re going to solve this together!
I am a content creator, and I’ve been working with Team JMI for over a decade now, so if anyone knows what’s going on it’s supposed to be me, right?
WRONG!
Here is what I know.
Team JMI has been buzzing for Speed Month, and everyone is excited about Caleb Shrader Racing taking the big stage for NASCAR Pacific Office Automation 147 at Portland International Raceway on August 29th and 30th this month.
I’ve been given permission and instructed to use Caleb Sharder images on all JMI Auto Insurance Portland and JMI Limo Service Portland social media accounts, like never before, and they are asking for more, which we are doing. Plus, he just released a statement on his homepage about the Next #1 Girl Racer in Oregon competition: CalebShraderRacing.com
On Monday last week, I was speaking to Stevi-Jo at JMI when I heard that Caleb’s team was on the way to pick up a check for sponsorship. I heard someone in the background say 2 numbers regarding the invoice. One was a reasonable number, and the other had two commas! Immediately, I asked Stevi-Jo about the new Name and Likeness sponsorship deal, and she hung up on me! She said, “I gotta go,” and hung up!
Waiting for her call back only lasted so long, so I called her back. No answer.
I called again, still no answer.
Naturally, I went to JMI HQ and I tried to ask Johnny on Monday night during a Zebra Limo photoshoot, but he gave me the one answer interview and drove off to handle business. That’s normal, but the fact I STILL do not know a week later is not normal at all.
This is what Johnny said when I asked him about the sponsorship:
JMI has sponsored Caleb since the beginning, that’s why you see our logo on his car, we’re proud of that. He’s like a son to our family. He puts his heart into every race. You know he’s back-to-back-to-back champion, right? NASCAR is next week, but I have to run…you’re going right?
At this rate, it might take until NASCAR next week to nail Johnny down for a meeting to get answers, but hey, at least the pic by Barbarian Creative in Portland came out nice! Their team came out with less than 24 hour notice and gave us less than 24 hour turn around time after that. WOW! Thank you Barbarian!
The next day…
I called again and again and again. Nothing. Being ghosted is one thing, but when you’re ghosted by your own team, something is up for sure.
Two days went by with nothing, so I started sending her the “You OK?” text message. Still no reply from Monday to end Wednesday afternoon. Even then it was the “I’ll get back to you” blow off but at least she said something!

She was even dodging both phones, Insta, and FB, too! Jerk, I was about to send up a flare! jk not really mad but you can see by the one-sided text that she totally left me hanging.

She finally answered on day 3, on Thursday, and gave me nothing!
She told me I was not authorized to share any information, and without being able to actually confirm what I heard, I can’t really say what’s happening, but it’s BIG!
Rewind to last Saturday, 8 days ago, I was at Oregon State Karting Championship Series (OSKCS) to see 8 time Champion Hudson O’Harrow, and his father Jeremy at 4T1 Motorsports, when I saw Caleb officiating. There was a race break, so we shook hands, and of course I went straight to my questions for the receipts, like ya do, but Caleb wasn’t hearing it.
He was beyond respectful, but he also gave me the one answer interview after saying he had to go officiate for the kids. He offered to speak later, but I had to go. Now, 8 days later, Caleb is immersed in his NASCAR race countdown so we still have not had the chance to speak in person since.
Turns out, I heard that Caleb got all the call right and he was actually saving the day by running the show all by himself because someone was sick. All I was able to get was one high-five on film and a quick quote. That’s all I know, but it was refreshing the way he shot my interview down for the kids and offered to speak later. Very respectful, but I’m still bummed I didn’t get the scoop! I just wish I had stayed for it, especially now, but this is what he said.
Sorry, I don’t have time, I’ve got to go, but we can talk after … we’re taking it to the next level
It’s that last part that got me, because Caleb smiled when he said it, and you could just feel the positive energy in the air all around but there was no time to chat.
And that’s when it happened!

I knew something was happening! Peep the comments.

That’s when I started working closer with Jeremy to update the content about Caleb behind the scenes because I was being ghosted on all sides. I’m still not even sure if he’s read it, but at least the racing community was there to step up and edit for him. This is what they said about Caleb, that Caleb himself has not even seen yet.

Now, we’ve created a new JMI Auto Insurance Portland Team page for everyone to follow along, and we’re launching the NEXT #1 Girl Racer in Oregon with Caleb Shrader Racing, but I still don’t know the deets!

That’s it. That’s what I know. There’s a big name and likeness deal happening right now at JMI Auto Insurance Portland Team and Caleb is now Captain of our Team of Champions for the next #1 girl racer in Oregon search.
The future is going to be epic and I can’t wait to share more. If you know Johnny, do me a favor and send him a text, DM or email to see if we can get the answers we’re all dying to know.
Be nice about it though, don’t get me in trouble for spilling the tea. Johnny Meeke, owner of JMI Insurance and JMI Limousine, is a great friend and business partner, as seen here at the Beaverton Chamber of Commerce where Jonny won Partner Of The Year for being such a team player. Well, I am here to tell you that it’s all true. No one passes more referrals than Johnny, no one. We’re talking hundreds of them! I know because I’m the only one to beat his monthly totals from time to time in the LeTip Business Networking Group. However, Johnny would always come back from vaca with a stack of insurance and limo referrals, so he’s since pulled ahead for good by over a car length when I stopped going to LeTip regularly with him.
For the better part of 5 years in a row, Johnny and I had breakfast every week, so I can say he really did earn that Partner of the Year Award title, and they should have given him two! Johnny is a legend is the local community for the support and donations he’s generously provided for local charities, schools, teams, and he’s now sponsoring the Next #1 Girl Racer in Oregon winner in a Zebra Limo party complete with a red carpet photoshoot to capture the winning moments for the world to see your victory.
The entire team is ready to race, and you’re invited! That much I do know …and hopefully we can get to the bottom of this before NASCAR weekend with a little positive peer pressure. Be nice tho, don’t get me in trouble for spillin the beans.
Thanks for reading and stay tuned because you’ll be the 1st to know when I get actual verifiable details.
